Virtual Event :: Thursday, 25 June 2020 scheduled for 09:30 - 10.30 (British Summer)

The Institute for Fiscal Studies is running a hosted virtual event on Thursday, 25 June 2020 scheduled for 09:30 - 10.30 (British Summer) IFS researchers present the key findings from their latest flagship annual report on living standards, poverty and inequality in the UK, funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Drawing on the latest official statistics for 2018-19, the event will examine the economic situation that households found themselves in on the eve of the current Covid-19 crisis and how this reflected the long hangover from the previous recession a decade earlier, and will put this in the context of emerging evidence about the economic impacts of the current crisis.

About the Institute for Fiscal Studies
The Institute for Fiscal Studies was founded in 1969. Established as an independent research institute, IFS was launched with the principal aim of better informing public debate on economics in order to promote the development of effective fiscal policy. Through the establishment of rigorous independent research, for example the IFS Green Budget and Post Budget analysis, IFS successfully opened up debate about public policy to a wider audience and influenced policy decision making.
